The Fine Arts Department at Lutheran South Academy believes that fine arts are essential to a well rounded education.  Students have the opportunity to explore band, music and drama and to use their God given talents in service to God and in their community. 

Students will learn that music is an integral part of creation, and it speaks to each one uniquely and beautifully. Students are given the opportunity in fifth grade to begin participating in Band.  In the grades to follow if they are not playing an instrument, they will continue to learn about the gift of music during Choir.  They will learn that music enriches and deepens faith and is in the curriculum for discovery, use, and praise. They will listen to it, sing it, read it, move to it, play it, create it, and interpret it. Music is God's gift to us as well as our gift to him. It is a way for us to express our thoughts, our beliefs, our feelings, and our praise.
