They say one is fun, but two is twice as nice! This has never been truer in the LSA Music program as the LSA High School Band, one year after winning their first state music championship, stepped up to the bar again and successfully defended their title! They are now two-time state music champions after a strong showing at the Concert and Sight-reading portion of the state contest! While on stage the band performed a UIL Class 4 level program that consisted of Radetzky March by Strauss, Irish Tune by Grainger, and Cajun Folk Songs by Ticheli. This program was the highest level performed of any band in the state. The Jazz Band performed a set of How High the Moon by Morgan Lewis and Attitude Dance by Castillo and Kupka. Overall, the band finished with a total of 448 points in the championships, 167 points ahead of second place finisher Bishop TK Gorman out of Tyler, TX.
