High School
Academic Program

Over 98 percent of the graduates of Lutheran South Academy continue into post-secondary educational institutions.  Some of the universities that our alumni have attended include: Yale, Auburn, Baylor University, Concordia University, Rice University, Stanford University, Texas A & M University, Texas Tech University, University of Nebraska, University of Notre Dame, and the University of Texas.

Our alumni include National Merit Scholars, Phi Beta Kappas, pastors, teachers, doctors, lawyers, engineers, university professors, judges, and many others who have excelled in many walks of life.  While academics are critical, the core philosophy is the development of the whole individual within a Christian learning community.

Lutheran South Academy uses a traditional curriculum requiring 24 credits for graduation, plus daily religion classes.  A "Recommended College Preparatory Program" and a "Distinguished Achievement Program" are offered.  Honors courses are available to students with a 3.00 cumulative GPA.  Students may earn a place on the Merit Roll or Honor Roll, and the National Honor Society for their academic accomplishments.

Competition in various academic areas takes place with other private schools in the state of Texas.  Advanced Placement courses are offered in several subject areas as well as a 'Dual Credit' program that allows students to receive both high school and college credit for courses taken through San Jacinto Junior College.  A complete list of courses currently offered can be found on the 'Profile' page of this web site.
