Athletics

Lutheran South Academy sponsors athletic teams for both boys and girls. Athletic teams are competitive and offer an opportunity to develop talents fully under the leadership and guidance of Christian coaches. As a member of the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS), LSA regularly sends teams to district and state playoff competitions. Interscholastic sports for girls include: volleyball, cross country, basketball, cheerleading, soccer, softball, tennis, swimming and track. Interscholastic sports for boys include: football, cross country, soccer, basketball, baseball, tennis, golf, swimming, and track.

Performance Groups

Drama productions including a Spring Musical are scheduled throughout the year. Band and Choral groups perform at several concerts during the year and are also involved in travel and state-wide competitions.  Drill Team for high school girls performs choreographed dance routines during athletic events and has shared their talent with residents at Village on the Park retirement home in Friendswood.

Organizations

A variety of student organizations are available for interested students. Student Government, TAPPS Academics, Houston Area Model United Nations, Newspaper and Yearbook are several of the choices available.  Link to list of current organizations.

Events

Homecoming, Spirit Week, Field Day, Junior-Senior Prom, Ring Day, class trips, honors banquets, award ceremonies and concerts allow school traditions to be passed down from one class to another. Social events such as the traditional Sweetheart Dance provide opportunities for students to learn the finer points of growing up.
