Security at LSA
Creating a safe campus environment is essential to accomplishing our mission. Our students are precious gifts entrusted to our care, and their safety is of utmost importance.
Lutheran South Academy prioritizes campus safety through a robust, multi-layered approach designed to keep our students from PreK-12th grade safe and secure. LSA fosters a secure learning environment where students can thrive, knowing safety is never taken for granted.
The following are some of the ways we keep campus safe:
Lutheran South employs licensed armed and unarmed guards stationed at key entry points and patrolling campus grounds. These guards are professionally trained in crisis response and deterrent presence.
LSA participates in the Texas School Guardian Program, empowering select staff (with concealed‑carry licenses and enhanced psychological screening) to carry firearms on campus. These trained guardians receive ongoing training, including range qualification and active‑shooter simulations, to serve as a first line of defense until police arrive.
Regular, scheduled emergency drills—including lockdown, evacuation, and severe-weather protocols—ensure students and staff are familiar with safety procedures. LSA also employs a nursing staff and a trainer to help address medical needs of students.
Through the combination of trained personnel, thoughtful infrastructure, and preparedness practices, Lutheran South Academy fosters a safe campus environment for students.
