LSA 8th place at TAPPS Academic

 April 4th and 5th, eleven students represented LSA in 13 different Academic and Speaking events at the TAPPS State Academic Competition in Waco. Students spent two days testing in many different Academic areas comprising the core academic areas of Math, Science, Social Studies, and English writing essay, interpreting and presenting both Prose and Poetry. Points toward the overall team competition are awarded to the top 8 finishers in each testing and speaking category. This year LSA students earned points in several areas.  Senior Patrick Grigsby led the scoring earning a State Champ title in Social Studies and a 3rd place finish in Current Events. Seniors, Andrew Sterling and Kaylee King placed 4th in Current Events and 6th in Literary Criticism respectively. Sophomore Andrew Leimkuehler rounded out the scoring for the team placing 7th in Mathematics. Overall LSA placed 8th out of 30 schools competing in division 4A. Way to go South!
