On January 4, 2017 nine high school pieces competed against all private and parochial schools for Rodeo art at the Bayou City Event Center. This year was LSA’s best year yet, winning 2 Gold Medals, one 1st place, four 2nd places, and one 3rd place. Our students did exceptionally well. All work except for the gold medal winners will be on display in the art room 109. The Gold Medal Winners work will be on display at the NRG throughout the rodeo. These 2 students will also be eligible for a life changing summer workshop by the Western Art Academy as well as classes by Glassell at the Museum of Fine Art’s Houston, will be honored at a ceremony at the NRG, will have their work auctioned off and receive a portion of the proceeds and our Senior winner is eligible for scholarships. Please congratulate our Gold Medal winners Tara Ruth and Grace Anderson. Our 1st place winner is Kelsey Roebelen. 2nd place winners are Katie Barlow, Kayla Ruthemeyer, Marty Sherman, Madeleine Barlow, and Gabriel Sarria (not pictured). In 3rd place was Kennedy Staples.
