LSA - School Resumes Friday, Sept. 8

Dear LSA Family –

I cannot thank you enough for the incredible outpouring of support.  The hours that you have put in have expedited the restoration process and will get us back onto the LSA campus much sooner than initially estimated.

I have some incredible news!  Sagemont Church has agreed to partner with Lutheran South Academy by providing us with classroom facilities so that we can resume school as soon as possible.  The goal is to start school on the morning of Friday, September 8.  Through this partnership, Sagemont is living out their mission of providing “Living Proof of a Loving God to a Watching World” by allowing us to take safe harbor within the walls of their ministry.  I cannot thank them enough for welcoming us into their Christian community!

The best part about this is that they can take ALL of us.  They can keep our LSA family together!  Their facility will allow for our three schools to continue to operate as one.

You may have heard that Sagemont also had some flood damage.  The areas that we will be using have not been affected.

The LSA administration is in the process of formulating a detailed education plan.  As soon as the plan is finalized, we will share it with our school families.  We do know that we will not be providing lunch service.  Students will need to bring their lunches for the duration of our relocation.

In relation to in-season athletics and the fall drama production, we will be starting up in-season practices and competitions immediately.  Coaches/Directors will be contacting their members with details specific to their activity including transportation information.

All other after school activities, clubs, practices and off-season sports are postponed until further notice.

Volunteer Child Care Help Needed:  As our staff works to resume education on Friday, we have some staff members that are in need of childcare during work hours Tuesday through Thursday.  If you (or your high school age student) are willing to provide childcare for a staff member in either your home or theirs, please use this link to offer your services.    Click Here

I have one request as we work toward finalizing our plan: Please do not contact Sagemont directly.  All LSA communication needs to go through LSA administration.

In closing, no matter what building we are in, the Pioneer Spirit is strong!  We will continue to SHINE the light of Christ for our students and families as we work together to Secure Their Future!

In Christ,

Sheila Psencik

Head of School
