Our mission is to assist students and parents as they transition through high school and into post-secondary education and/or the work force. We are here to guide, counsel, challenge, suggest and inform. We work with students as individuals to understand who they are beyond the classroom and help them find the "right fit."
The college counselors meet with students individually and in groups to establish goals and develop four-year high school graduation plans. Each year, the college counseling office hosts college admission advisor visits, seminars, and parent meetings, all designed to give every student and family the information needed to maximize their high school academic experience and navigate the college admission and financial aid process.
Every student will be introduced to Naviance Family Connection
- a comprehensive website that students and their parents can use to help in making plans about courses, colleges, and careers. Family Connection is linked with Naviance Succeed™, a service that we use in our office to track and analyze data about college and career plans, so it provides up-to-date information that’s specific to our school.
College Presentations on Campus
LSA regularly hosts college admissions representatives who meet with interested students in our front office conference room. Meetings are usually scheduled from 12:30 pm to 1:10 pm. Students sign up to meet with reps on Naviance. If you are signed up, you will receive a pass from your counselor to be dismissed from class a few minutes early. Bring your lunch!
